About Me

Photographs keep memories alive. Whenever I pick up a camera to photograph clients, I am conscious of this fact and feel honored to be in this profession. While attending college, I felt photojournalism was my calling but after working in the newspaper industry for 10 years, my focus began to change. Anticipating the arrival of my first child, I decided to leave my 9 to 5 to become a full-time mom. After about a year, I missed being behind a camera and needed a creative outlet again. It is now my absolute pleasure to work with families.

As a photojournalist, I documented events as they happened and occasionally posed people for portraits. Now, the majority of my work involves posing people, directing them for the photograph. I seek out new locations for photo shoots and I keep an eye out for interesting props to incorporate into photographs. However, the photojournalist in me constantly watches for moments during a session for unposed photos, trying to capture people being themselves. This often leads to great candid photographs.

If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I'd love to hear from you so we can talk and design a plan about what style of photography you are interested in. I look forward to working with you!
